If only it was Let the Right One In…but it isn’t…
In My Skin?
‘Bound’ (d: the Wachowski Brothers)
Nope. None of the above.
The Brood?
Not brooding about it.
Long shot, but…”The Horse’s Mouth”?
No.
A hint. It’s from a film made within the last 10 years.
The Last Winter
Hollow Man.
I fear I may be right.
If it is, Jenny is determined to contaminate WitD with irredeemable shit. The next screencap will come from The Creeping Terror and then one from Fire Maidens from Outer Space, enough to make all Borodin fans everywhere run for cover.
Lol, Allan. No fears for the integrity of WitD. It’s a great guess, Ibetolis, but that’s not it.
Time for another hint.
Don’t assume that’s blood. It isn’t.
It clearly looks like paint…Pollock would be too obvious….?
Not a bad guess at all David! Let’s see what Jenny says……….
Not Pollock, but a nice guess.
This image, being made, and others like it are superimposed on the screen during a sort of frenetic montage sequence as we are introduced to the character making this handprint.
“My kid could paint that”?
I had a feeling it was paint, thus my original choice…
No, not that. Your instincts were sound, though, Jon.
Jenny how’s “Who the #$&% is Jackson Pollock” sound?
other guess: “Basquiat” which is wrong, I just wanted to think about his paintings. Which I adore like few other artists.
Those Basquiat paintings are pretty awesome, but this isn’t one of them. Neither is it the other picture.
This was for a feature film that earned several Oscar nominations that year.
“Frida” maybe?
Not Frida.
Ok, since I actually like people to figure out what these things are rather than dragging it out interminably, here’s another clue, and a fairly big one. The hand that made the print received an Oscar nomination for this film.
Wild guess, with no exact reasoning, In America?
David, your wild guess is wildly right. It’s the handprint of painter Mateo, played by that gorgeous specimen of man flesh that is Djimon Hounsou.
Congrats David!!! And thanks Jenny Bee for a particularly challenging and unique screen cap there!!!!
Dave: You are up.
