How about Walter Huston?
Jason Robards Sr. ?
Ah, I think Frank got it…
Sorry, JAFB, but neither you nor Frank are correct. But please, try again – both of you, and as much as you like.
Well, TBH, Sam, Walter Huston is also a correct answer. He wasn’t in a Griffith silent but he was the lead in Abraham Lincoln. He’s the winner. And think of postage you’ll save.
Hi! Sam Juliano, Allan, and WitD readers…
Here goes a “wild” guess, but is it…actor Donald Crisp?
That was OUR answer, Artesmia, but Frank got in before you. He wasn’t wrong.
Oops!…I forgot to mention the films…Birth of Nation, Broken Blossom and Intolerance for Griffith and The Man From Laramie for Mann.
Sam and Allan!
I already own this DVD set, and have no use for a second copy. I was just playing for fun. Please award Artesmia the victory. She did after all have the answer you guys were looking for. The DVD set is hers.
Bonjour! Allan Fish,
Phew! you saved my life…and me from a ” long hot
month “ viewing of Ratatouille…Because DeeDee said, “If my answer is correct and if I didn’t hand over the disc to Frank Gallo…my fate was sealed!”
Merci, and Congratulation! to Frank Gallo, too!
Congratulations Artesmia! The DVD set will ship to you tomorrow!
Hi! Sam Juliano,
After DeeDee’s threat, my first inclination was to type the word…No with a least 20-30 “o” behind it, but I decided against that…
…Because just like Frank Gallo, I was just guessing for fun too (being a very curious person)…and to be very truthful, I don’t watch too many epic(s)…to date, I have only watched two films considered epic (s)films …Cleopatra and Lawrence of Arabia.
Therefore, I think that the disc should go to Frank Gallo, who will actually, watch the film. Sam Juliano, thank-you, once again for very generous offer, but I have to graciously, and very gracefully, decline your offer.
Artesmia:
You have won this DVD, as you provided the answer we were looking for. Frank Gallo already has teh set and has no use for it. While you may have well been playing just for teh sake of playing, the fact is you have won, and the DVD will be sent on to you.
Hi! Sam Juliano…
Artesmia, you will be watching Ratatouille for the entire month of August. lol!!!!
Bye! Bye,
DeeDee
By the way, for those of you who want to know Artsy’s response…just think of the word No with at least 20-30 “o”
behind it…Oh! yeah, and tonsil …Ha! ha, as I “plug” my fingers in my ears and cringe.
I like your blog http://wondersinthedark.wordpress.com/. Very informative put up, love the way you write and I think that the knowledge helps in a way. I don’t usually say this, but I think this can be a nice job done. If you like to exchange links, I’d be very happy to offer a hyperlink back to your site. Hope to hear from you soon.
