Looking for a movie?
Wonders in the Dark is a blog dedicated to the arts, especially film, theatre and music. An open forum is highly encouraged, as the site proctors are usually ready and able to engage with ongoing conversation.
My guess is seven days in May. Great blog by the way
Thanks, Samo, but God that gave me a laugh. Seven Days in May!!! For starters that was in black and white, and I don’t remember a cat in shades in that.
If you’re meaning the header photo, that’s Spellbound.
Actually, I read your post through a RSS reader and didn’t have the image at all so I didn’t take it under consideration. Now that I check it out, the cat in shades doesn’t ring a bell at all.
No idea, but I think I want to see that movie.
LOL Jenny! I’m with you there!
OK, I think I googled the answer, but I don’t know if that should count. If someone actually KNOWS from seeing the film, they should get it.
LOL Jenny! I don’t think anyone knows it!
Alright then, The Cassandra Cat (1963), also known as Až přijde kocour, or The Cat Who Wore Sunglasses or When the Cat Comes (talk about not being able to settle on a title, sheesh).which is apparently a seminal film of the Czech New Wave cinema.
Until last week, I had no idea there was such a thing as Czech New Wave cinema, but I’m learning more every day, especially via Wonders in the Dark.
This sure is an interesting world.
Indeed Jenny. The Czech New Wave is that ‘unchartered territory’ for many, but there is treasure there to be mined. I have seen a number of these gems myself, although not this film. Nice work!
Well, you saved me making a cross-reference, Jenny. Well done. The review is currently up. Send Sam your choice of picture for the next one.
