No fuss, but here it is,the poster that Joel was talking about. Enjoy and put your glasses on. Not as good as Joel’s video, of course, but I’m quite proud of it.

Hi! Allan…
As well as you should be…I wonder how many years Of film-making appeared here on your collage?
Because I took the image over to my Ning in order to see if I could “enlarge” the image more so…Here goes the results…
Allan Fish’s takes a look at 60? 70? years Of Film-making
There maybe a slight enlargement or difference?
By the way, I only watched a handful Of the films on your collage and I must admit that is a little bit “frighting!”…lol
What a very nice job…indeed!
Thanks, for sharing!
deedee 😉
All anyone needs to do is click the poster. It will shrink but the magnifying glass will appear which will allow close examination. Simples.
Hi! Allan…
I’m not sure if you are addressing your response to me directly, or WitD readers…Believe me
I truly understand what you’re saying…Because over there on my Ning my images are “enlarged” to their maximum capacity.
However, If you or any WitD readers want to see what I’m talking about just follow this link:Robert Walker’s [actor] Memorabilia and “tap” any image on this page…What I was trying to do is enlarge your image to its fully capacity…too!

Yes, this is a work of art in every sense!
Just waiting for the poster to arrive now.
Truly wonderful, in the dark or not! And OK, let me blow my own horn: I have a slideshow accompanying my site, The Constant Viewer, that includes all the images I’ve used so far. The Viewer is in 1993 right now, so it goes from a camera obscura and Muybridge to Wallace and Gromit. Onward into the present!
And hey, apropos of nothing, we’re two movies into our yearly Halloween Roundup. “Shadow of the Vampire” is next: piles of mediocre pizza is on the way. Wish you were here: http://yourhumbleviewer.blogspot.com/2011/10/2011-halloween-roundup-pardon-me-but.html
This is really great. It’s fun to try and figure out where each still is from. I recognize a bunch, but it’s still only a small fraction of all the films represented here. And yes, I can easily tell that the number of “years” represented here goes back over a hundred to the earliest days of cinema–I’m not sure what Dee Dee is confused about.
Is this supposed to correspond to your All-Time Top 3,000? Most of it appears to be, but I wouldn’t have expected Muybridge’s horse to make that list (though i haven’t scoured it to make sure).
No, it’s separate to the best films list, Stephen. After all, Caligula is in there! 🙂 And yes, I am sad enough to be able to recite every single one from memory.
“I’m not sure what Dee Dee is confused about….”
Hello! StephenM…
I don’t quite understand your inquiry about my “state” Of confusion? huh? I’m not confused or rather wasn’t confused…lol
I was just telling Allan that I tried to enlarge his homage to film collage even larger [over there on my Ning] in order for the WitD readers to take an even closer look at his collage.
Because over there on my Ning I constantly, enlarge images to their fullest capacity.
In other words, I didn’t need Allan to describe to me…
[Well, that is if Allan was talking to me since he didn’t mention my name… lol ]
…how to enlarge his image…Because I post enlarged images over there on my Ning every other day.[and I also post the simple 1-2-3- steps on how to view the images enlarged…too!]
[If you like just follow the links above to see or find out what I’m talking about…By the way, it’s nice to make your acquaintance.]
deedee 🙂
AWESOME! Why is it the Laura Palmer image jumped out at me immediately?! Man, that really got scorched into my memory.
But so many great images here…many I “remember” but can’t quite place…almost like a dream. This should be the cover to Allan’s book (or a fold-out insert).
This, as well as Joel’s video, were a real treat.
Thanks, guys!
The problem with using this as a cover is that some of the films here are not in my book – Caligula, hello!!! – though the vast majority are.
Damn, I know I left a comment on this yesterday. Not sure what happened to it. To repeat myself, as I said via email to Allan when he first revealed this (and would have said on this thread Saturday night if not for the power situation), awesome work here! I love to see cinema in this way: all its different facets and eras and styles mashed together, practically spilling out of the frame! And whatever one thinks of my video, this is far more comprehensive and wideranging, not just 60 years, but 130, with 660 films.
I got about a 70% in guessing these, which I can live with – mostly I think I just deserve a beer for even trying! (Though Fish cancelled out my debt by guessing the clips in my video, something I could brandish as a defensive weapon when attacked for making it so fast…)
Yup, if we ever meet, beer on the way.
