There is nothing to match shared experience and the fierce love forged by years of bonding and assimilation.  Even blood ties can’t mitigate the fortitude of affectionate tutelage, and the inescapable realization that the family one grew up in is the only one that matters.  In the case of an adopted child who finds out in due course that his or her family is not the biological one the realization could be a painful one.  Yet loyalty remains with the cultivators, rather than the creators, the teachers as opposed to the absentees, those who created memories instead of those who crashed the party after the last slice of cake was eaten.  Even an honest mistake cannot shake the foundations of domestication and identification, not to mention undying devotion, fueled by amour.
