Wonders in the Dark is devoted to all the arts – but particularly to movies. Since the site began, about 90% of its content has been devoted to the moving image in both its manifestations: cinema, and television. Sometimes it has been hard to distinguish between the two (a TV movie, a miniseries, a film that debuted on television, etc.) so the two forms are included together – “The Simpsons” alongside The Searchers, “Neon Genesis Evangelion” next to Pinocchio.
You can search a title by its name, national origin, genre, year of release, or creator (director for most theatrical films, producers and sometimes directors for animation, and writer, producer, or director for TV shows, depending on the situation). You can also look up the output of any of the site’s signature authors (whose various series can also be found on the sidebar).
For a look at writing on other mediums, as well as “metaposts” dealing with the blogosphere itself, visit the Complete Archive.
And remember, you’re always free to leave comments on “old” pieces – there’s no expiration date on something you like!

Joel, this is a stupendous addition to the site. But then this is simply another in a long line of reference projects you have added to make this site as complete and enriching as it is today.
Yes, another invaluable addition to the site. I plan to make good use of it.
Thanks, guys. Actually this has been here all along, but to get to it you had to go through the main archives page. By the look of the stats, no one ever did but since I added the link on the sidebar, a solid hundred or so visitors have checked in. I certainly hope many of them used it to find some great pieces. The site is simply a treasure trove of material, and I fear much of it gets overlooked in favor of the most recent posts – but no reason the discerning reader can’t partake of both.
Joel,
How ever did you do that spreadsheet embed. Been wanting to do that for about two years now.
Cheers!
JAFB, not sure if you get email updates but I pass the info along to you if need be, let me know…
Thanks Joel. I sorta figured that out later:

Ah, good! Hope you can add links at some point for the ones you’ve reviewed…
